The total amount of fines collected for violations increased by 134.6 percent and their numbers - 126.9 percent in January-May compared to the same period in 2009, the Azerbaijani State Securities Committee, reported.
During the report period, the committee received 100 applications and 11 appeals. The committee also received complaints on violations of the investors' rights in respect of 268 joint stock companies compared to about 174 complaints during the same period in 2009.
The committee 59 sanctions worth 12,200 manat against the violators compared to 26 fines worth 5,200 manat in the same period in 2009. The committee applied 142 claims to joint stock companies compared to 45 in the same period in 2009.
The official exchange rate is 0.8033 manat to $1 June 19.
