Japan's jobless rate rose 0.1 percentage points to 5.3 per cent in June, the government said Friday, dpa reported.
The number of unemployed people in the world's second-largest economy declined 1.1 per cent from a year earlier to 3.44 million in June, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said.
While male unemployment edged up 0.1 points from May to 5.6 per cent, the rate for women was 4.9 per cent, up 0.2 percentage points, the ministry said.
