Business Materials 24 August 2010 18:01 (UTC +04:00)

Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari met Algerian Ambassador to Tehran Soufiane Mimouni and discussed signing a free-trade deal with the African Moslem country in the future.

Ghazanfari said the Islamic Republic respects the African continent in its international commercial relations and in this regard Algeria could be a gateway for Iran into North Africa.

The minister said holding specialized exhibitions, opening bank branches or establishing a joint bank and exchanging trade delegations are some ways Tehran and Algiers can help boost business relations between each other.

Mimouni said present political relations between the two countries were at a fine level and expressed hope that commercial ties, which were low, would also reach a satisfactory level.
