Trade and economic relations between Iran and Turkmenistan are developing dynamically, Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov said at a meeting with Iranian Trade Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, the national Altin Asir televisn channel reported on Tuesday.
"Trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and Iran are characterized by growing dynamics in recent years. A clear example of this is the fact that the current bilateral trade volume exceeded $4 billion," Ghazanfari said.
An Iranian delegation led by Ghazanfari arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the Turkmen-Iranian business forum.
"We will continue to develop business partnerships with our closest neighbors, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, with whose people we have been linked with ties of friendship and common spiritual traditions," Berdimuhammedov said.
Ghazanfari stressed that "the successful development of interstate cooperation is largely linked with relations established between the leaders of the two neighboring countries based on mutual understanding and trust."
According to him, the business community of Iran is showing its desire to further consolidate on the Turkmen market, offering the latest design and high quality products.
