Uzbekistan introduces new, increases existing import customs rates

Uzbekistan is introducing new and increasing existing import customs rates on consumer products.

According to the document, the duty on import of products from chicken and turkey meat is set at 30 percent of customs value but not less than $1 per kilogram. Earlier, this rate was set at 30 percent of customs value but not less than $ 0.25 per kilogram.

The duty on import of sausages and similar meat products increased up to 30 percent but not less than $2 per kilogram from the previous 10 percent but not less than $0.4 per kilogram on imports of cheese and curd - up to 30 percent but not less than $2 per kilogram from the
previous five percent but not less than $ 0.1 per kilo.

The rate on imports of bakery and confectionery products with sweetener will be increased up to 30 percent but not less than $1 per kilo, compared to 30 percent.

The old rates of import customs duties on these types of products were established in August 2009.
