A Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry delegation headed by Deputy Minister Georgy Karbelashvili has paid an official visit to Afghanistan.
As the Georgian Economy Ministry told Trend, meetings were held with Commerce and Industry Ministry and the Transport Ministry. The sides discussed prospects of trade and economic relations between the two countries. No agreements are signed in this sphere at this stage.
The meetings defined the following areas of bilateral cooperation: trade, civil aviation, international road transportation, cooperation in the field of navigation.
The Afghan side received complete information about the reforms in the transport sector. The Afghan side expressed readiness for cooperation in the Eurasian transport project TRACECA, the interest in diversifying transit directions of energy resources and trade resources and considers Georgia as one of the alternative directions.
