Kazakhstan and Lithuania signed an agreement to establish a Kazakh-Lithuanian Business Council between the Atameken National Economic Chamber and the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists, News-Kazakhstan agency reported.

The agreement was signed during the Kazakh-Lithuanian business forum, which is underway on Friday in Astana to coincide with the Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite's visit to Kazakhstan.

"The main goal of the business council is to facilitate closer contacts of entrepreneurs, as well as provide an information exchange," Atameken head Ablay Myrzakhmetov said.

He said the transport-transit industry can become the main area of cooperation of the two countries' entrepreneurs.

"First, we will focus on inviting Lithuanian investors to specific regions," Myrzakhmetov said.
