Some 0.5bln manat to be allocated for improvement of Baku and its suburbs

The 2012-state budget is expected to allocate 500 million manat to realize projects under the State Program of Social and Economic Development of Baku and its suburbs in 2012, the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported.

Based on the preliminary distribution, these funds will be spent on a project to improve the ecological status of Baku bay, work on landscaping and irrigation on 300 acres near the settlements Hovsan-Bina-Dedegorgud-Bahar, building of houses for youth, playgrounds for mini football and sports halls, renewals and construction of several facilities in the health sector.

Under the state program, it is planned to reconstruct the Balakhani-Binagadi road (10.2 km), and construct a new four-lane road connecting the Sabunchu circle and Nardaran village (18 km).

The program also provides for the implementation of projects aimed at improving the sewerage system and water supply system in Baku and its settlements and construction of post offices and gas supply of new residential areas.

The State Program of Social and Economic Development of Baku and its suburbs for 2011-2013 was approved by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on May 4, 2011.
