UN forecasts Uzbekistan’s GDP growth at 7 percent in 2012

Real gross domestic product (GDP) will increase by 7 percent in Uzbekistan in 2012, the UN report "World Economic Situation and Prospects-2012" said.

According to the UN analysts, the Uzbek economic growth will hit percent in 2013.

According to the UN experts, the growth of real GDP was 7.3 percent in Uzbekistan in 2011.

The World Bank (WB) has recently published a report "Global Economic Prospects for 2012". According to it, the growth of Uzbekistan's GDP in 2012 will amount to 8 percent, in 2013 - 6.5 percent. The current account balance will hit 7 percent of GDP in 2012 and 6 percent - in 2013.
According to the World Bank, the growth of Uzbekistan's GDP was 8.3 percent, the current account balance - 8.1 percent as of 2011.

It was previously reported that the Uzbek government predicts GDP growth at 8.2 percent in 2012.

The report "World Economic Situation and Prospects" is prepared by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, UN Conference on Trade and Development and the five UN regional commissions at the beginning of each year.
