Georgia and the Asian Development Bank will actively cooperate. The agreement on joint participation in specific infrastructure projects was achieved during the Georgian governmental delegation's visit to the Philippines.
The delegation included Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili and Finance Minister Dmitry Gvindadze. The meetings were held in Manila. The central office of the bank is situated there.
They discussed the issues concerning the construction, rehabilitation of highways, water systems, hydroelectric power stations and bank protection projects, Nikolaishvili told Georgian journalists in Manila on Tuesday.
"We talked about the infrastructure projects financed by the Asian Development Bank," he said. "The matter rests in two projects - Tbilisi-Rustavi route and bank protection operations in Batumi and Anaklia. Water supply projects, as well as urban projects in Tbilisi are very important."
Finance Minister Gvindadze said that the bank is one of the Georgian largest partners among international financial institutions.
"The credit portfolio of the Asian Development Bank in Georgia exceeds $1 billion," minister said. "This is successful cooperation, which is characterized by positive dynamics."
