Tehran and Bishkek study the possibility of importing Iranian oil and gas to Kyrgyzstan, Iranian ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Manouchehr Moradi said in an interview with Trend on Wednesday.

"The issue of selling energy resources by Iran to Kyrgyzstan is very important," he said.

The ambassador added that Kyrgyzstan has no access to a number of resources and this makes the country dependent on neighboring countries and as the result the country has difficulties in getting energy resources and reaching the transportation links.

The issue of buying oil from Iran was always in the focus of Kyrgyzstan's attention, the diplomat mentioned.

"We held negotiations with Kyrgyzstan in this regard and now we assess several Kyrgyz proposals," Moradi said.

The ambassador expressed his hope, that Iran will be able to help Kyrgyzstan to remove all limitations in transportation and access to resources.

"Both parties are ready to cooperate in this regard, but all necessary issues should be carefully worked through," the ambassador said.

Moradi also touched upon the issue of China-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran railway construction.

He said the project is of high importance for the whole region.

"If it is implemented, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will be able to avoid the limitation of transportation links," the diplomat said.

Moradi believes that the construction of the railway may positively impact the widening of trade relations among the countries of the region.

He mentioned that the preliminary plan of the project is ready and now the sides wait for the completion of its study.

Moradi believes that Kyrgyzstan is ready to cooperate with Iran within the project because it is beneficial for this Central Asian country.
