China, Iraq main destinations for Iranian goods

China and Iraq were the main importers of Iranian goods in the past Iranian calendar year, importing $5.652 billion and $5.151 billion worth of goods respectively, the IRNA News Agency reported.

Imports of China and Iraq from Iran rose by 24 percent and 13 percent in order compared to the year before, the report says. The Iranian calendar year ends on March 19.

The UAE stood at the third place, importing $4.515 billion worth of Iranian goods, showing a 35-percent growth year on year.

The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) has set the target of $75 billion for this year, TPOI head Hamid Safdel told the IRNA News Agency on Monday.

Previously, the Customs Administration head announced that Iran had exported around $43.7 billion worth of non-oil goods in the past calendar year and imported some $61.8 billion worth of goods, to hit the unprecedented mark of $105 billion in annual trade.

Abbas Memarnejad said non-oil exports rose by 28 percent compared to the year before, while imports declined by 4 percent, the Fars News Agency reported.
