A pilot study to produce Nano-crystalline magnetic cellulose at Iran's University of Science and Technology has been successful.
Researchers say the material can be used to reduce how much energy is lost in electricity transformers, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reports.
The pilot study's success means the University of Science and Technology will start producing the material.
With the recent opening of its Nano Research Centre, the University of Science and Technology has expanded its work in this field. The research centre will work in different areas of nanotechnology ranging from Nano- chemistry to Nano-mechanics.
Nanotechnology works with individual atoms and molecules. A nanometre is one billionth of a metre.
