Volume of construction work increases by almost 43 percent in Azerbaijan

The volume of the construction work in Azerbaijan increased by 42.9 percent in January - April 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, State Statistics Committee told Trend on Friday.

Including, the volume of construction work conducted by state-owned companies hit 27.7 percent of the total volume of the work, while by private companies -72.3percent.

Some 73.6 percent of the total volume of construction work accounted for the initial construction, renovation and expansion, 12.6 percent for the major repairs, 2.3 percent for the current repairs, 11.5 percent for the other construction work.

Some 80.7 thousand people were involved in construction work in 2012, nominal wages in the construction sector amounted to 549.4 inn the first quarter, increasing by 7.3 percent compared to the same period in 2011. The salary in state-owned construction companies amounted to 431.9 manat (increase by 18.2 percent during the year), private companies - 632.5 manat (decrease of 0.5 percent).

Nominal wages in large and medium-sized construction companies amounted to 540.3 manat. The level of wages in the construction of buildings declined by 1.4 percent, up to 538 manat, increased by 13.2 percent, up to 691.2 manat in specialized construction, in areas of civil construction wages increase by nine percent, up to 383.1 manat.
