Iran's proved oil reserves at the end of 2011 estimated to 151.2 billion barrels, according to BP's June 2012 World Energy review report, published on Monday.
Iran's oil reserves remained unchanged compared to 2010, according to the report.
In comparison to Iran, Iraq has increased its oil reserves since the end of 2010 by 28,1 billion barrels, reaching a total of 143,1 billion barrels at the end of 2011.
Considering that Iran's oil reserves were left unchanged and Iraq has increased its by 28,1 billion barrels, the difference between these two OPEC members is only 8,1 billion barrels, as of the beginning of 2012.
Another OPEC member Saudi Arabia is leading the region with a 265,4 billion barrels, which increased by 0,9 billion barrels since 2010.
At the end of 2011, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia shared a total of 33,9 percent of the world's total oil reserves (Iran - 9,1 percent, Iraq - 8,7 percent, Saudi Arabia - 16,1 percent).
