Azerbaijan has enlisted Slovenian companies to work in special economic zones which are going to be established in the country.

The companies' participation in these special economic zones was discussed at a meeting between Azerbaijani minister of economic development Shahin Mustafayev with Slovenian Vice-Premier and Minister of Economic Development and Technologies Radovan Zerjavin. The meeting covered the questions of development of economic cooperation between the countries and cooperation between businessmen.

Mustafayev noted the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia in various fields and the high importance of bilateral relations, visits by high-ranking officials and the holding of business meetings. Five companies with Slovenian capital were registered in Azerbaijan over the period of 2004-2011.

In turn, the Slovenian Vice-Premier noted that reforms and stable economic development in Azerbaijan are being followed with great interest in his country.

In Zerjavin's words, Azerbaijan and Slovenia hold the potential for even greater development of economic relations.
