Some 108 million manat was allocated in the state budget during the entire period of operation of the Department on the preliminary investigation of tax crimes of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan, head of the department Vidadi Mammadov told reporters.
"The transfer of 41.8 million manat to the state budget was provided in 2011, and the same payments amounted to 10 million manat as of Nov 22," Mammadov said.
He noted that the department aimed not to bring those who evade payment of taxes to justice, but to settle the issue by a notification or warning. And education and agitation through the median have a great role in it.
"Many of those, who evade paying taxes, are hiding abroad, particularly 29 people are announced for international search," head of the department said. "There is no problem with processing offenders within the Republic, because the department is working closely with law enforcement and other state agencies."

Department of the preliminary investigation of tax crimes was established on May 29, 2000. The Department has started to work from August 30, 2000. Some 524 criminal cases were filled on tax evasion in 2011.
Ministry of Taxes noted the expansion of the tax base in 2012: it had increased to 46,864 taxpayers during January-September. There were 54,939 taxpayers during that period. 43,921 e-registration of individual entrepreneurs (individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity without establishing a legal entity) was carried out from July 2011 to October 1, 2012.
There were 467,244 taxpayers on October 1. Some 67,376 taxpayers passed the registration in the country in 2011, including online-registration (from July 1 to the end of the year) - 10,075 entrepreneurs. The share of electronic tax returns for last year amounted to 90.5 percent.
