Tender announced for installation of alarm systems within reconstruction of Baku-Boyuk Kesik railroad

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC has announced a tender for the design, provision and installation of alarm systems in the railway corridor Baku-Boyuk Kesik. This was stated by the tender commission on Saturday.

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC has announced a tender for the design, provision and installation of alarm systems in the railway corridor Baku-Boyuk Kesik. This was stated by the tender commission on Saturday.

Works are conducted within the Railway Trade and Transport Facilitation project of the World Bank. The Bank has provided $ 450 million funding for this project to Azerbaijan. Specifically, the project provides for the switch from DC to AC (25 kV, 50 Hz) in the direction of the corridor. The alarm system should be installed in accordance with this grid.
According to the tender terms, the work must be completed within 48 months.

Proposals will be accepted until 17:00 on April 19. Participation fee is 160 manat ($ 200).
The loan agreement between the Government and the World Bank was signed in December 2009. The total cost of the project promoting rail transit and trade amounted to $673.8 million, $450 million of which account for the World Bank loan. The project is part of the State programme to improve the rail infrastructure of Azerbaijan (2008-2013) worth 1.2 billion manat.

Credit resources are allocated by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for a term of 23 years with a grace period of eight years at a cost; a six-month LIBOR plus spread is changing. Commission on the loan which will be paid by the borrower was determined at a rate of 0.25 per cent. Payments on the loan will be made twice a year, on June 15 and December 15.

The official exchange rate for Feb. 16 is 0.7847 AZN / USD.
