Turkey's revenues from privatization increased by 39.6 percent amounting to $146.2 million from January to April 2013 compared to the same period of last year, the Turkish Ministry of Economy said today.

According to the report, the agreements on full or partial privatization of 47 projects have been concluded in Turkey since early 2013. The total profit will hit $9 billion.

The projects that were privatized in the first four months of this year include the privatization of four hydropower stations with a total value of $115.5 million.

According to the report, around 47 enterprises and institutions were privatized during this period. But the profits from these projects will be transferred to the country's treasury in a few months after the agreements are signed.

Earlier, Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said that a record number of transactions on the privatization of state enterprises are expected to be concluded in Turkey in 2013. In particular, a number of production capacities of the country's hydroelectric power station and thermoelectric power station will be put for privatization in 2013.
