The representative of Iran's presidential hopeful Saeed Jalili has said that Jalili's administration will stabilize the US dollar exchange rate at 25,000 rials two weeks after its incumbency, ISNA
reported.

Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki added that foreign currency exchange rates should be stabilized as soon as possible in order to be able to curb the inflation rate.

This way, neither the government nor people will be losers, he said.

US dollar was sold at 36,500 rials in Iran's free market. Meanwhile the government maintains the official rate at 12,260 rials.

Jalili's administration will pay subsidy to agricultural inputs, technological goods, staple foods and medicine, Abdolmaleki noted.

He also said that imports of goods which are also domestically produced should be restricted or banned.

Jalili, who is the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, has said that boosting agriculture will be his top priority if he wins the presidential race.

According to Jalili, millions of dollars have been allocated to the agriculture sector and that all the next chief executive needs to do is to release those funds to help the prosperity of rural areas.

A dynamic agriculture can easily boost domestic production, create new job opportunities and consequently curb price hikes, he said.
