BMW 528i was the most expensive car imported to Iran in the first two months of the current Iranian Calendar year, which started March 21.
The mentioned automobile was imported at the cost of 179,899 dollars, the ISNA News Agency reported.
Mercedes Benz SL500 worth 175,431 dollars was the second most expensive imported car in the mentioned period.
Mercedes Benz S500L worth 160,523 dollars was the third most expensive car, followed by two models of Toyota and Porsche.
Iran also imported 3,580 cars in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year. The figure shows 21 percent decrease compared to the same time span the previous year.
The value of the imported cars stood at around $93 million which is 1.1 percent less than the same period of time previous year.
South Korea, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates were the main exporters of cars to Iran.
Iranian car manufacturers produced 68,295 cars in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started March 21, the IRNA News Agency reported.
Some 45,457 cars were produced in the country in the second month of current year. SAIPA's Pride with 20,494 sedans was the most produced model.
Iran produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made the country Asia's eighth largest car manufacturer.
