As of June 1, 2013, Azerbaijani banks slightly reduced the rates on deposits in manat and freely convertible currency, the Azerbaijani Central Bank's statistics report said today.

As of June 1, 2013, Azerbaijani banks slightly reduced the rates on deposits in manat and freely convertible currency, the Azerbaijani Central Bank's statistics report said today.

According to the Azerbaijani Central Bank, the average rate on deposits in manat as of June 1, 2013 was 9.48 percent compared to 10.32 percent as of June 1, 2012.

The average rate on deposits in foreign currency amounted to 10.37 percent compared to 11.01 percent as of early June 2012.

As of June 1, 2013, the average rate on physical entities' deposits in manat was 9.99 percent compared to 10.74 percent as of June 1, 2012. The average rate on individual clients' deposits in foreign currency amounted to 10.59 percent compared to 11.21 percent as of early June 2012.

As of early June 2013, the average rate on legal entities' deposits in manat was 5.05 percent compared to 6.12 percent as of June 1, 2012. The average rate on corporate clients' deposits in foreign currency was 5.22 percent compared to 5.27 percent as of early June 2012.
Around 43 banks operate in Azerbaijan.

The official exchange rate is 0,7844 AZN/USD on July 5.
