Leasing transaction volume increases in Uzbekistan

The total volume of leasing transactions in Uzbekistan increased 1.4 times amounting to 357 billion soms in January-June, 2013, compared to the same period of 2012.

The total volume of leasing transactions in Uzbekistan increased 1.4 times amounting to 357 billion soms in January-June, 2013, compared to the same period of 2012, Uzbekistan Lessors Association (ULA) told Trend on Monday.

According to the data provided by ULA, Uzbek lessors concluded around 3900 leasing deals in the first six months. As of early July, the total volume of the leasing services market amounted to 1.403 trillion som, increasing by 8.2 per cent from the beginning of the year.

As of the first six months, the share of leasing transactions in the country's GDP amounted to 2.8 per cent and the share of leasing in investments in fixed capital amounted to 2.8 per cent.

Around 99 lessors including 26 commercial banks worked in the country's leasing market in the first six months.

As has been reported, the total volume of leasing transactions in Uzbekistan increased by 22 per cent in 2012 and amounted to 590.6 billion soms compared to 2011 and the volume of the leasing services market by 3.4 per cent ( to 1.297 trillion soms). The share of leasing in GDP amounted to 1.3 per cent and in investments in fixed capital to 2.7 per cent.

The official exchange rate in August 12 is 2111.45 soms / $1.
