Iran has been missing research and training services of the Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia-Pacific (NACA) during last ten years due to non- payment of membership fees, ISNA news agency reported.
Iran has been accepted as member of NACA with a $60,000 of yearly membership fee in 2004.
After membership, Iran was selected as leading center of trout production in the region, but cooperation has not been continued due to non-payment of membership fees, the report said.
NACA is an intergovernmental organization, owned by its member governments, with currently 18 country-members in the Asia pacific region.
The objective of NACA is the expansion of sustainable aquaculture and small-scale aquatic resources management, through the promotion of science-based best practices in policy, sector management and farm management.
