Kazakh Metallurgical Kazakhmys Corporation increased copper cathode equivalent production by 8 percent in the H1 of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015 to 111,600 tons, the company reported on July 27.
The average copper grade in the ore in the first half of 2016 amounted to 0.94 percent compared to 0.88 percent in the same period of 2015.
The company processed 14.8 million tons of ore in the 1H of 2016.
Kazakhmys Corporation plans to produce 224,400 tons of copper cathode equivalent in 2016.
