Kazakhstan has as of Oct. 6 harvested crops from 14.99 million hectares, accounting for 97.7 percent of the total harvest area, Kazakhstan's Agriculture Ministry said on its website.
The ministry said that during the current marketing year, a total of 22.64 million tons of crops was harvested throughout the country.
The average yield was 14.1 quintals per hectare.
For comparison, over the same period of last year, Kazakhstan harvested 17.68 million tons of crops. The average yield was 13.6 quintals per hectare in the previous marketing year.
One of the main crops produced in Kazakhstan is wheat. Kazakhstan is among the world’s major grain exporters and plans to export up to 9 million tons of grain in the current marketing year.
