Turkmenistan to buy agricultural equipment from John Deere

The Turkmen Agriculture Ministry has signed a contract with John Deere International GmbH company (Switzerland) for the purchase of large batches of agricultural equipment, units, as well as spare parts and expendable materials, the Turkmenistan State News Agency reported Apr. 26.

“As many as 150 new John Deere W540 combine harvesters will replenish the Turkmen domestic fleet of grain harvesters within the first stage before the harvesting starts,” said the agency. “Of them, 48 combine harvesters shipped from Europe by rail will arrive in Turkmenistan in the coming days.”

By the beginning of the harvesting of cereals, Turkmen agricultural equipment operators will receive 102 more combine harvesters.

The next stage involves the delivery of 400 John Deere 8245R tractors in June-July 2017 before the plowing season starts, and the supply of 200 John Deere 9970 cotton harvesters expected in August-September 2017, before cotton harvesting begins. The same number of combine harvesters of this model will arrive in Turkmenistan in 2018.
