The project called “Strengthening the National Accreditation System of Azerbaijan” started in the country July 12, 2017, Olga Veilande, director of the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau (LATAK), which is one of the project’s developers, told Trend July 14.
In addition to LATAK, the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) and the Italian National Accreditation Body (ACCREDIA) are also participating in the project’s implementation, she noted, adding that that the project is funded by the EU.
Earlier, Sabig Abdullayev, head of the Accreditation Center at the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan, told Trend that the project aims to contribute to the development of the Azerbaijani economy and expand access of local exporters to the world markets by creating an accreditation system that meets the European requirements.
