Uzbekistan is keen on restoring the aviation industry and create an aerospace industry, reads the draft state program for 2018 "Year of active entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and technologies".
Within the reforms, it is planned to develop a strategy for 2018-2035 on the formation of the aerospace industry.
Until Nov. 10, 2018, it is expected to develop a draft regulatory and legal document and approve action plan aimed at developing material and scientific bases, training personnel, as well as attracting foreign investment in a new direction of the country's economy.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to create a separate state agency for aerospace activities, which will allow to solve all issues of development of this sphere in a complex manner.
“Little attention has been recently paid to the introduction of strategic aerospace technologies in the leading sectors of the country's economy,” President Mirziyoyev said.
"Foreign investors should be involved in the implementation of projects based on public-private partnership to develop this progressive sphere. The potential of research institutes must be strengthened," he noted.
