By Ilkin Shafiyev - Trend:

Az-Granata, a producer of juices and alcoholic beverages in Azerbaijan, has stopped importing grain alcohol from Belarus, Vugar Mikayilov, the company’s director for alcohol production, told Trend.

“Recently, production of high-quality grain alcohol has grown in Azerbaijan,” he said. “That is why import of this product from Belarus is no longer expedient.”

Earlier, Mikayilov told Trend that the company had agreed on deliveries of luxury class grain alcohol to Azerbaijan.

He said the company also intends to expand pomegranate wine export to Belarus in 2018.

“The government of Belarus sets quotas for the import of alcohol products,” he noted. “The quota for the import of wine from Azerbaijan is 500,000 bottles in 2018. We expect to cover about half of this volume.”

Az-Granata was established in 2011. The company supplies its products to 30 countries, including the US, Canada, countries of the CIS, Europe and the Middle East.
