The US Agriculture Ministry increased its wheat production forecast in Kazakhstan for current agricultural year, July 2017 – June 2018, to 14.8 million tons, Kazakh media reported on March 13.
The Ministry noted that the wheat export forecast hasn’t been changed and it still at 7.5 million tons level. Wheat import forecast is also unchanged – 50,000 tons.
Net weight of 2017 wheat harvest in Kazakhstan totaled 20.6 million tons.
Earlier, barley harvest in Kazakhstan in 2017 totaled 3.3 million tons, 2.3 percent more than in 2016, and is a historical maximum for the crop in the country.
Total wheat harvest in 2017 amounted to 14.8 million tons, 1.2 percent less than in 2016.
