Uzbekistan, Russia to jointly manufacture agricultural machinery

Uzbekistan and Russia discussed cooperation regarding agricultural machinery during the meeting between Director of Agricultural, Food and Road Construction Machinery Department of Russian Industry and Trade Ministry Yevgeny Korchevoy and Deputy Premier of Uzbekistan, CEO of Uzagrotechsanoatholding Nodir Otajonov, Uzbek media reported on March 14.

According to the information, the talks were organized in order to implement the agreements achieved during the visit of Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov to Uzbekistan in October 2017.

The sides discussed supply of agricultural machinery, food and processing industry equipment, as well as road construction and communal services equipment for road work in Tashkent.

Special attention was paid to implementation of agreement on establishment of joint enterprise for agricultural machinery assembly between JSC Chirchik Agricultural Machinery Plant and Rostselmash Ltd.

The sides noted that creation of the joint enterprise will allow Uzbekistan to modernize technical base of farms, whereas Rostselmash will be able to expand its operation not only in Uzbekistan, but in the whole Central Asia.

Nodir Otajonov underlined that development of joint manufacturing is an important stage of deepening bilateral relations between Russia and Uzbekistan. Organization of joint production in the country will allow lowering cost of the agricultural machinery for Uzbek farmers and promoting its sales.

The agreement on establishment of joint enterprise for agricultural machinery assembly was signed between JSC Chirchik Agricultural Machinery Plant and Rostselmash Ltd on April 3, 2017.

According to the document, the Chirchik Plant’s base will be used for assembly and phased localization of agricultural machinery with use of Rostselmash’s technology.
