Turkmenistan, UAE cooperate in banking, finance

The Dubai Islamic Economy Development Center (DIEDC) of the UAE and the Turkmen State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs have signed a memorandum of understanding, the Nebit-Gas newspaper reports.

The document is aimed at establishing channels for cooperation in Islamic banking and finance, as well as facilitating coordination and exchange of experience in the halal industry.

The document was undersigned by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Economy Minister and Chairman of DIEDC, and Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the Foreign Trade Bank of Turkmenistan (TFEB).

DIEDC, in partnership with TFEB, organizes seminars and courses, and shares knowledge in research and development.

Furthermore, both sides have created a joint committee to oversee cooperation in research and knowledge to support the development of the Islamic economy system.

Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Jepbarov said "the bilateral relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan continue to deepen and flourish, as we see great support from our colleagues from the Emirates."
