By Ali Mustafayev – Trend:

Kazakhstan exported 39,400 tons of salt in January-March 2018, which is an increase by 27 percent compared to the same period of 2017, EnergyProm reported.

The country produced 88,900 tons of salt, in the mentioned period, which is 6.7 percent more than in January-May 2017.

Almost all of the salt output is concentrated in the country’s Kyzylorda region, where the salt industry giant Araltuz is located.

Kazakh market is fully provided with local salt, which contributes to restraining price growth.

Salt in Kazakhstan has risen in price only for 0.4 percent in May 2018 year over year, to 51.3 tenge for kg. For comparison, other food products in the same period increased in price by more than 5 percent.
