MAN Auto-Uzbekistan, an Uzbek-German joint venture, plans to start exporting buses produced in Uzbekistan, a representative of the company told Trend Aug. 20.

The products of the MAN Auto-Uzbekistan plant in Samarkand city are of great interest for Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, according to the representative.

These products include MAN A22 CNG low-floor buses of large capacity, working on compressed natural gas (CNG) and assembled at Samarkand joint venture MAN Auto-Uzbekistan. From now on, the MAN A22 CNG buses will also be equipped with air conditioning.

There are already 50 such buses on the roads of Tashkent, according to the company’s representative.

“The first prototype of the MAN large capacity bus operating on CNG appeared in Tashkent in September 2015,” the representative noted. “For today, its mileage has exceeded 220,000 kilometers. For 2.5 years of operation, the main transport units and aggregates operate without failures and breakdowns.”

The representative added that 80 more such buses will be delivered to the capital of Uzbekistan by the end of the year, and another 190 in 2019. MAN service centers will also be opened in the bus fleets of the Tashkent transport agency “Toshshahartranshizmat”.

The advantage of buses working on CNG is that when they are operated, much less harmful substances are released than when using similar diesel models.

The use of new CNG technologies will make it possible to reduce fuel costs by 30-35 percent compared to buses operating on traditional fuel. Also, buses using CNG operate much quieter, which has a favorable effect on the urban ecology.

Earlier it was reported that MAN Auto-Uzbekistan joint venture and Uzbek UzAutoTrailer company will increase the level of localization and reduce the cost of production by expanding mutually beneficial cooperation ties with domestic manufacturers of car components, as well as entrepreneurs willing to develop their business in the Uzbek automotive industry.

MAN Auto-Uzbekistan joint venture is a manufacturer of MAN heavy-duty and passenger vehicles in the Central Asia region. The company was founded in August 2009 and is located in the Samarkand region.

The company produces modern MAN automobile equipment with a gross weight of up to 41 tons and carrying capacity of 5-30 tons. The company has mastered a wide range of equipment - truck tractors, dump trucks, concrete mixers, concrete pumps, water trucks, garbage trucks, watering, fire and rescue vehicles, a total of over 50 types of special machinery.

The annual production capacity of the company is up to 3,000 pieces of equipment, as well as city and intercity buses, with the possibility of increasing up to 8,000 units.
