By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Serbia can be increased six times in the next two years, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Kapital.kz on the sidelines of the Kazakhstan-Serbia business forum in Astana.

"We can increase our turnover five to six times in the next two years, since a lot of products can be added here. For example, we can trade in fruits and vegetables and engage in joint processing in the agro-industrial complex," he said, adding that there are also good prospects in the military-industrial sphere.

It is worth noting that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Serbia has increased by 60 percent over the past year and amounted to $42 million.

During the business forum, the parties signed four memorandums in the fields of air transport, construction, youth policy and veterinary medicine.

"For us, these are crucial agreements, as they will strengthen our cooperation in the economic fields at the highest level," the Serbian president said.

He noted that the Serbian delegation met with the president of Kazakhstan as well as businessmen.

During the forum, Vucic also pointed out that Serbia would like to receive from Kazakhstan customs-free imports of several goods in the EEU market, including poultry meat, cheese and cigarettes, as well as quotas for supply of 5,000 cars to Kazakhstan.
