Retail trade in Kazakhstan up by 6.4%

The volume of retail trade in Kazakhstan in January-November 2018 amounted to 8.85 trillion tenge, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

This is 6.4 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

According to the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry, retail sales of goods by trading enterprises increased by 10.8 percent, and by individual entrepreneurs rose by 0.9 percent year-on-year.

The share of food products in the total retail trade was 32.3 percent, and the share of non-food products accounted for 67.7 percent. The volume of food product sales decreased by 5.5 percent, and of non-food products increased by 13.4 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the volume of wholesale trade in the reporting period amounted to 19.73 trillion tenge, which is 8.3 percent more year-on-year. Non-food products and technical and industrial goods dominated in the structure of wholesale trade: their total share was 76.6 percent.

Also, in November, the volume of inventories of retail trade enterprises amounted to 499.1 billion tenge.
