In January 2019, 21,700 cars were produced in Turkey's Sakarya Province, 86 percent of which were exported to world markets, Trend reports referring to the country's Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD).
Over 600 cars were produced daily in Sakarya.
In general, in January 2019, 110,900 cars were produced in Turkey, 94,800 of which were exported to world markets.
According to OSD, the car production in Turkey in 2018 decreased by 9 percent compared to 2017, and amounted to 1.5 million units.
In 2018, 486,300 cars were sold in Turkey.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Models of Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are currently assembled in Turkey.
