Uzbek Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Laziz Kudratov and Turkmen officials held several meetings in the Turkmen ministries and departments, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on Feb. 26.
The issues of the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, investment and trade turnover were discussed in the Turkmen Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Turkmen State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.
The Uzbek delegation also held meetings in Turkmengas and Turkmenoil state concerns, during which a wide range of cooperation issues was discussed.
The Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan bilateral relations have greatly intensified recently. According to the Uzbek side, the total volume of trade turnover increased up to $302 million in 2018 compared to $177 million in 2017.
Agricultural machinery, fruits and vegetables, mineral fertilizers, building materials, chemicals and textile are supplied from Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan.
Oil and oil products, equipment, polymers are supplied from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan.
