Turkey is looking for an alternative to European markets, the country's Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said, Trend reports via Turkish media.

As the main reason, the minister noted the decline in European markets.

"Nearly 52 percent of Turkey’s exports go to European markets," she said.

She added that the ministry is currently studying the markets of countries to which Turkey has not previously exported goods.

According to a report of the Ministry of Trade, the country's trade turnover in January amounted to $30.1 billion.
