Kazakhstan, Singapore to expand cooperation

Kazakhstan is planning to sign an agreement on increase of mutual trade turnover with Singapore, said Alikhan Smailov, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the press office of the prime minister.

He made the statement during the meeting with Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry of Singapore, which took place within the framework of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The topic of development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Singapore was covered during the meeting.

Furthermore, special attention was devoted to the Free Trade and Investments Agreement.

“Both countries possess of great potential for the increase of trade turnover volume and the special economic zone which is being developed at the moment is to support the increase,” said Alikhan Smailov.

“The agreement on the increase is to be signed in fall of 2019,” he added.

In turn, Kazakhstan party is determined to do their best to make sure that the completion of negotiations meets the deadline.

“The future Agreement is to become the important measure in increasing the trade, economic and investment cooperation of our counties," he concluded.
