Cost of exploration work in Kazakhstan could exceed $1M

The cost of the rare earth elements exploration work on Kazakhstan’s Akkense field could exceed 500 million tenge ($1.35 million), Trend reports with reference to LS news agency.

“The field is located in Karaganda region of the country. Investments are to be attracted for the realization of exploration work on the field. The area of the exploration work to be carried out in 2019-2021 reaches nearly 21 square kilometer,” Kazgeology JSC says.

Furthermore, the volume of the rare earth elements stockpile will be assessed following the end of the work. Negotiations with potential investors in the project are underway.
