Azerbaijan's exports of fruits, vegetables increase

From January to August 2019, Azerbaijan increased exports of fruits and vegetables by 14.5 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Export Review published by Azerbaijan’s Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

The country's exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to $361.7 million in terms of value in January-August 2019.

Exports of plastics and plastic products amounted to $136.8 million during the aforementioned period, with exports of cotton fiber having amounted to $86.2 million, chemical industry products to $86.2 million, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to $18.9 million, and cotton yarn to $20.2 million.

Compared to the same period of 2018, exports of cotton fiber increased by 49.4 percent, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by two times, cotton yarn by 40.3 percent, plastics and plastic products by 51.3 percent, and chemical products by 68.7 percent.

Azerbaijan's exports amounted to $13.5 billion in January-August 2019, which is $633 million or 5 percent higher than the figures last year.

In particular, the volume of non-oil exports increased by $184 million, or 17 percent, to $1.277 billion.
