The Turkmen parliament has adopted a new version of the bill "On the Turkmen Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs", Trend reports referring to the Turkmen government.
The document stipulates the legal, organizational, economic basis of the activity of the Union. The powers of this public organization are expanding.
When discussing the bill, the MPs drew attention to the priorities of state policy to strengthen the positions of domestic entrepreneurship, which is the driving force in the process of formation of the market economy in the country.
The Union unites over 23,000 representatives of private business. The representative offices have opened in China, the UAE and Austria.
The entrepreneurs are expanding the international cooperation and actively working on creating joint ventures, attracting investments in the implementation of big projects, the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary state news agency said.
During the recent parliamentary meeting, the bills on amendments and additions to the laws on free economic zones; property; trading activities; land; migration; migration service were also adopted.
According to the current Constitution, the parliament adopts laws, makes amendments and additions to the Basic Law, approves the state budget; decides on the holding of popular referenda, appoints elections of the president, deputies of the Mejilis, members of representative bodies; considers, on the proposal of the head of state, the issues of the appointment and dismissal of the chairman of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Justice; ratifies and denounces international treaties, and solves the issues of changing the state border and the administrative-territorial division of the country.
