Over 100 local, foreign companies registered in Iran’s Anzali Free Trade Zone

Some 109 local and foreign companies have been registered in the Anzali Free Trade Zone in Iran’s northern Gilan province from March 21 through October 22 of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019), Vahid Talibpur, deputy director of the Anzali Free Trade Zone, said.

“The shareholders of nine companies are foreigners,” Talibpur added, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

"The shareholders of the companies registered in the Anzali Free Trade Zone are citizens of South Korea, Poland, Russia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Greece, UK, China and Kazakhstan," the deputy director said.

Talibpur said that 109 registered companies operate in the fields of trade, tourism, construction, services, industry, production, culture and sports.

The deputy director added that 2,482 companies have been registered from 2005 when the Anzali Free Trade Zone launched its activity through September 22.

“Some 273 of them are the foreign companies or branches of the companies,” Talibpur said.

“The owners of the registered companies are from Russia, India, Germany, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, UK, Poland, Syria, UAE, Azerbaijan, Italy, Iraq, Ukraine, Nigeria, Turkey, Sweden, Georgia, Greece and other countries,” the deputy director said.

Talibpur said that the share of foreign investors registered in the Anzali Free Trade Zone ranges between 23 percent and 100 percent.

“One of the most important opportunities for the companies registered in the Anzali Free Trade Zone are the tax exemption for 20 years, easy investment process, foreign investors’ full participation in the project, supply of the products produced in the Anzali Free Trade Zone into Iran without certain customs duties,” the deputy director added.
