Iran's border cooperatives in West Azerbaijan Province exported goods worth $22 million in first nine months of current Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), said Managing Director of General Department of Cooperative of Province West Azerbaijan.

"Major parts of export were food items including fruit and vegetables, as well as steel, construction materials and particle board," said Reza Naghizadeh, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Those 28 cooperative companies that are located in the border can only trade with neighbor countries," the managing director added.

"About 73 new cooperative companies are to be launched in West Azerbaijan from the start of new Iranian year (March 21, 2020). They will create 882 job places and will be mainly operating in the service sector," Naghizadeh said.

"Currently, more than 30,000 people are employed by the cooperatives in the province," he added.
