The bilateral trade turnover between Georgia and the UK increased by 17.6 percent to $145.1 million in 2019 compared with $119.6 million in 2018, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).
In 2019, Georgia exported to the UK goods worth $5.2 million and imported goods worth $109.9 million from UK.
Trade turnover between the two countries has been increasing since 2017: in 2017 it amounted to $111.9 million; in 2018 - $119.6 million; in 2019 - $145 million.
In 2019, Georgia exported to the UK rubber pneumatic tires worth $ 5.5 million; mineral or chemical fertilizers, nitrogen worth $4.7 million; ferroalloys - $3.4 million; oil and petroleum products - $2.8 million; precious metal products - $2.4 million; alcoholic drinks - $1.7 million; reaction accelerators and catalysts - $1.4 million; manganese oxides - $857,000; natural grape wines – $636,400.
In 2019, Georgia imported from the UK cars worth $29.8 million; packaged medicines - $9.9 million; bulldozers, car dealers, excavators, tractors - $6.2 million; operation of auto parts - $5.3 million; alcoholic drinks - $5.2 million; immune serum - $2.5 million; telephones - $2 million; clothes - $1.9 million; units for filtering or purifying liquids or gases - $1.5 million; denatured ethyl alcohol with an alcohol concentration - $1.3 million.
In 2019, foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) of Georgia amounted to $12.8 billion, which is 2.7 percent more than in 2018.
Exports amounted to $3.7 billion (12.4 percent more), while imports - $9.1 billion (0.8 percent lower).
