Trend:

Iraq has set two conditions to allow entry of Iranian trucks that carry export goods, said the spokesman of Iran's Customs Administration.

"Iraq's first condition at Soomar border is to unload the trucks at the Iraqi side and reloading the cargo to Iraqi trucks," said Rohollah Latifi, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"The second condition is that only drivers with mask, gloves and gown are allowed to enter; otherwise, they will be banned," Latifi added.

The official noted that in past three days, 1,500 Iranian trucks have been stopped at Soomar border with Iraq.

"After negotiations and fulfillment of Iraq's conditions, 200 trucks have passed the border and 300 trucks are unloading cargo, but around 900 trucks are still at the border," he said adding that the passenger transportation through Iran-Iraq borders is not allowed, but Khosravi border point was reopened to Iranian trucks since March 1.

"Medical check ups are run at Parviz Khan border in Iraq, and this has reduced the export by 20 percent. Other customs check point are conducting disinfection," he said.

Following coronavirus outbreak in Iran, neighbor countries have closed borders with the country.
