Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov and Vice President of Malaysian Serba Dinamik International Limited (SDIL) Palendran Palachandran held a video conference on 9 April 2020, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
During the videoconference, the issues of further practical implementation of the investment project on organization of production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine in Hazorasp free economic zone in Uzbekistan?, worth $250 million dollars of direct Malaysian investments, were discussed in detail.
The participants of the event also talked about the measures being taken in Uzbekistan to ensure macroeconomic stability, uninterrupted operation of industries and spheres of economy, implementation of investment projects with the participation of foreign companies, as well as measures taken to combat the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Following the videoconference, agreements on the development of a Road Map by SDIL on the implementation of this investment project were reached.
Earlier, on January 14, 2019, an agreement between Serba Dinamik and the world leader in the production of high-quality equipment "ThyssenKrupp" to equip the plant in Hazorsp was signed with participation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia.
Serba Dinamik is a group of companies providing engineering services in the oil and gas, chemical and energy industries, and is also considered one of the drivers of the Malaysian industrial sector. It operates in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, the United Kingdom and other countries of the world.
The company's market volume is about $2 billion, and the total value of its shares is about $350 million. The company employs over 1,500 people.
