The value of agricultural production in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR) from January through May 2020 amounted to 57.1 million manat (nearly $33.6 million), which is 3.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports referring to the Nakhchivan AR’s State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, production of meat on hoof amounted to 9,422 tons, and production of milk – 36,918 tons, which is 2.8 percent and 1.7 percent respectively more compared to the first five months of 2019.
Meanwhile, the volume of industrial production in the Nakhchivan AR increased by 1 percent compared to the same period in 2019, reaching 450.8 million manat (nearly $265.2 million).
As a result of regular support of entrepreneurial activity and the creation of new production enterprises, 383 types of products are manufactured in the AR, of which 126 types are food and 257 are non-food items.
Currently, the population’s demand for 350 types of products (108 food and 242 non-food ones) is fully met via the local resources.
